Malenadu [Beluru Halebidu Mullayanagiri Manikhyadhara falls]
This is the ideal time to witness the great beauty of malenadu. Hills will be covered with mist…. You will find the pearl like water droplets on the top of coffee plants… one should experience such climate…
I visit to dharmastala every year in the time of August/September.
This year we [ my friends and I ] planned to cover some surrounding places along with dharmastala
We planned to visit Kukke, Dharmastala, Chikkamagaluru, beluru, halebidu,Mullayanagiri,Bababudanagiri and manikyadhara.
Following is the brief introduction of two days.
14th August: 9.45pm: Leave Bangalore by Kukke Bus
15th August: 6AM: Reached Kukke
10.30AM: After Subramany swami darshana Left to Dharmastala.
12.30PM: Reached Dharmastala
4PM: finished darshana and prasada by.
5PM: Left to Chikkmagaluru and reached there by 9PM.
16th August: 7am : Left chikkmagaluru
8am: reached Beluru
9.30AM:reached Halebidu
11AM : Back to chikkamagaluru
12.30PM: Left to mullayanagiri, covered manikyadhara falls
8.45PM: back to chikkmagaluru
9.30PM: Left to bangaluru ….
17th August: 4AM : Reached Bangalore.
Kukke:
Kukke is around 300km from bangaluru. It is in dakshinakannada District.

Kukke is famous for Subramany swami temple and the trekkers dream spot Kumar Parvata is also here. Aadi Subramnya swami temple is on the bank of Kumaradhara River.
Subramanya swami temple Devotes who have naga dosha performs special pooja in this place.
Dharmasthala:
It is around 75 km from Kukke. Dharmasthala is on the bank of Netravati river.

Temple
Dharmasthala is famous for Manjunath swami temple.
Beluru:
Beluru is around 25 km from Chikmagaluru. Beluru was the capital of the Hoysala Empire. The main attraction in Belur is the Chennakeshava temple.
Chennakeshava temple Its believed that, Lord Vishnu in the form of Mohini killed Bhasmasura in this place. For this reason lord chennakeshava is decorated as mohini in the temple. , this temple is one of the finest examples of Hoysala architecture.
Hoysala
Elephant, lion, and Horse, represents-Strength,courage and speed respectively.
It was built by king Vishnuvardhana in commemoration of his victory over the Cholas at Talakadu.
Halebid:
Halebidu was the 12th century capital of the Hoysalas.

Hoysaleshwara temple

The architecture at Hoysaleswara and Kedareswara temple is the best architecture. The Hoysaleswara temple
was built during this time by Ketamala and attributed to Vishnuvardhana.

Mullayanagiri:
It is 18km from chikmagaluru. It is the highest peak in Karnataka.

Mullayanagiri is located in the Baba Budan Giri Range of the Western Ghats.
From Mullayanagiri we went to bababudanagiri, but unfortunately because of renovation of datt peeth, we were not able to go to peeth.
From here we went to manikyadhara falls. Its really good place and beautiful.
